The FYS Story

The Forever Young Society dream began in 2003 with an idea from a woman who has lived in both Chinese and American cultural and dietary environments, who is an international activist, presenter and trainer on both Western fitness modalities and Eastern wellness practices and martial arts, whose life journey has fostered her a great passion for well-being, creative expression, personal growth and human evolution.
The ‘forever young society’ verbage was first used years ago when she was teaching Taiji and Qigong classes in one of US’ top 25 healing art centers within Western hospitals and some community centers and martial art schools. The participants are from 30 to 88 years old and practiced with eager. They all felt younger and stronger over time and very obviously liked to be associated with the idea of ‘forever young’.
This made her wonder about the often-unspoken desire to be youthful, as she knew herself always felt inspired to hear people complementing on her younger look than her actual age. She underwent a research on both sides of the globe over the years. The finding is that rather than just a matter of vanity, youthfulness is closely associated with energenicness, creativity, productivity and freedom. People who stay young relish living more, they are more creative, their relationships are better; they make better parents, they are more at ease, therefore avoid more dis-eases. She has discovered that “being young” is definitely not a fixed quantification, for whom we used to consider “old” half a century ago is most likely thought to be still quite young today. It is rather an issue of mind over matter. The fact is when people is determined to look and feel young, they carry themselves in a way where they actually experience and live in a state of more energy and freedom. Hence, they are in reality looking younger, more energetic and creative, and living a healthier, happier, more harmonious and freer life.
Over the years, she couldn’t help but noticing the rapidly growing number of the ailing and pre-mature aging population in all of our modern societies and the visible gaps among modern health care systems, fitness regiments, wellness practices, martial art training, holistic healing, spiritual groups and religious organizations in promoting wellbeing, preventing and combating physical and mental disorders and slowing down aging process as a team. There is so much more we can do if different fields and industries can just open up and join forces as a whole, she contemplates...
If to be fit, well, whole and unique and to live a more youthful and bondage-free life is the innate desire and instinct of every human being regardless of our differences in cultural and religious background, professional field, gender, age and experiences in life, then perhaps, she wonders, this common ground will draw health care professionals, fitness trainers, complementary therapists, martial artists, holistic healers and spiritual groups together and unite their powers to create more positive energy for our modern world and more health, happiness and harmony for individuals, families, communities and societies within this world.
Through innumerous meditations, she envisioned a unique fusion of fitness, wellness, culture and art, an accessible fellowship for pursuing health, happiness and harmony in modern life, a productive and cozy space to fulfill modern people’s desire for more energy, peace and freedom. She made this dream into reality in 2004 first in China, and now in America. Undoubtedly in her mind, it will be soon all over the world, within every modern community’s reach…
